29th October 2020 - Emma Burton (James Burton Construction)

Wessex Demolition have been fantastic with our demolition project from the start.
The communication has been excellent and when problems arose, the team managed the situation professionally and in a timely manner.

Their Covid-19 procedures/Health & Safety procedures when visiting site were always clearly in place.

The Site Manager and his team were always approachable and nothing was too much trouble for them when I arrived at site, needing something. We chose Wessex as their price for the works we needed to carry out was reasonable and at no point did we feel pressured to give them a decision when we were going through the tendering process.

We look forward to working with you again in the future.

19th February 2020 - Jonny Gilbert (Kier Group)

Good Afternoon,

I would like to thank you on behalf of the Kier team here at Wilden School for your teams hard work and efforts on the project.

The Supervisor & operatives were exceptional on site, and showed brilliant professionalism whilst doing the demo works on the swimming pool roof, removal of gable wall & cutting out structural steels.

Thank you,

Jonny Gilbert
Site Manager

14th March 2018 - From Phil Walker (Huhtamaki)

Overall the project has been excellent with no unplanned disruption to the factory operations.

The control of dust, waste and material movement all went to plan and the comprehensive method statement was adhered to throughout.
It was a pleasure also to work with yourself and the team.

Phil Walker
Engineering Projects Manager

20th January 2017 - From Johnathon Holden (Bowmer & Kirkland)

I would just like to take this opportunity to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed working with yourselves from the lads on site to you lads in the office. You have been one of the best demolition contractors I have ever worked with.

Again thanks for making the job so easy for me! I will be recommending you for any jobs I do in the area in the future.

15th August 2016 - From Mrs Arnold

Dear Mr Grant,

I am an ordinary Bude resident with absolutely no connection with the building or demolition trade, but felt I had to write to you to express my admiration for and appreciation of the way your team has been dealing with the demolition of the old Strand Hotel here.

It has been an eyesore for years, but the news that it was going to be demolished did make me (and others) wonder what sort of impact such action might have on anyone in the area, especially if it happened during the tourist season.

It was clearly going to be a tricky task and your guys have been here for months now. Nevertheless the two-way traffic on the edge of the site has kept moving throughout. My friends and I have been fascinated to watch your progress, from the removal of the windows, then the floors and lastly the walls, front to back. We have been enormously impressed by the way the huge mountains of demolished material have been controlled and the dust kept damped down all the time.

Yours sincerely,
Mrs Arnold

23rd January 2015 - From Peter Hampton (E G Carter)

Concerning the project at Somerford Community Centre, Christchurch.

"Very clean & professional job. Thanks."

29th April 2014 - From Tina Wilkinson (First Wessex)

I have just had a lovely conversation with a resident at Worcester Close, Farnborough. He wanted to pass on his thanks to the demolition team, he said they were very professional, very tidy and very very nice guys.

He said it makes a nice change to have contractors who take pride in their work.

Well done it makes a lovely change to have a compliment about contractors, especially as we did have quite abit of negativity about the whole re-development etc.

Many thanks,

Tina Wilkinson,
Project Manager,
First Wessex.

10th April 2014 - From Mr. Geoff Smith (Ardmore Construction Ltd)

Hi all,

I would just like to thank Pip and the team from Wessex Demolition regarding the professionalism shown today whilst undertaking a very precarious part of demolition on the lift shaft area of Lionel House.

Everything went as planned including a commendation from the client regarding the measures in place from Ardmore and Wessex combined.

Geoff Smith,
Health, Safety & Environmental Manager.

1st May 2013 - From Mr. Chris Colledge

Dear Mr. Grant, (Manager Wessex Demolition)

I write in my capacity as Chairman of the West Cliff Green Residents Association and regarding your companies demolition of St. Georges Hotel, West Cliff Gardens. I specifically asked for your contact details from your manager on site.

In a world where many people are only too ready to complain and criticise I believe it only right to give praise and recognition where it is due. I cannot speak more highly of the Wessex Demolition employees who are working on the St. Georges site.

The St. Georges has been a problem to the local community for well over a decade, since it ceased being a hotel. Not only has the derelict building been an eyesore and blight on the landscape but it has created so many problems such as drug addiction, squatters and vermin, especially that of pigeons and rats.

Your employees that have carried out the demolition have done so with being as helpful and informative of what is happening to local resident, visitors and hoteliers. Indeed many people who have been holidaying year after year at the local hotels in West Cliff Gardens have only known a sad and derelict site of St. Georges deterioration. Your employees have been so helping also to the neighbouring hotel guests. They are indeed a credit to your company and as an Association we extend our gratitude.

Kindest regards,

Chris Colledge
Chairman West Cliff Green Residents Association.

11th January 2012 - From Meon Valley Scout District

The Director,
Wessex Demolition and Salvage Ltd.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to thank you for arranging for your workers to dispose of the unwanted material taken from the container when they cleared the old Scout HQ in New Road, Swanmore in December. It greatly assisted the (volunteer) helpers who were sorting out the Scout equipment.

Thank you again,

Yours sincerely,

Jill Sutton (Mrs)
Acting Secretary,
Swanmore Scout Group.

24th August 2009 - From David Frampton

I thought I must write to you regarding the demolition of 12 Downview Road carried out by your firm. It was carried out in a most professional way with no disruptions to ourselves.

We found all your employees most professional, friendly and courteous and willing to help us in anyway they could.

Thank you once again,

David Frampton.
